3 LFISD school board member spots on November ballot

LA FERIA – Three La Feria ISD Board of Trustees spots are on the ballot this coming November with one one incumbent seeking re-election.
Place 2 member Ruben Zambrano is looking to remain on the board, while Place 1 member Michelle Gomez-Vela and Place 3 member Michael Martinez have decided to not seek re-election, leaving two spots open.
As of 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17 there were several candidates signed up and ready to run for a seat on the board.
Juanita Castillo and Anna Aleman will be running for a Place 1 seat while for Place 2, incumbent Zambrano is running unopposed.
As for Place 3, Hugo Garcia, Alfonso Rodriguez and Alma Martinez have all thrown their names in the hat as candidates to replace Martinez.
