The La Feria Volleyball Team continued to roll last Tuesday. At Zapata High School, in front of a minimal crowd, the Lionettes beat the Crystal City Javalinas in straight sets: 25-12, 28-26, and 25-9. The only challenge came in the second set that pushed the set past the 25 point limit.
This victory earned La Feria the Area Championship crown. Last week the team defeated Alice in straight sets to be Bi-District Champs.
Next up for the Lionettes is Tuloso-Midway, the winners of District 31-4A.
This will be a tough match for La Feria. Tuloso-Midway has also been making short work of their playoff foes. This includes dispatching La Feria’s local rivals Rio Hondo in the Bi-District Round.
If La Feria can advance past Tuloso-Midway, then either La Vernia or Wimberly will be the match-up to decide the Regional Semi-Finalist.
