Town of Combes on the Move
- Updated: November 8, 2013
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Business Strip
The mayor’s office, the police department and a crowd of citizens were on hand for the official opening of the town’s much awaited, new business strip. The honor of cutting the ribbon fell to Mary Torres, co-owner of SKYE SALON, one of the first businesses to move into the attractive, new 8-unit business strip. Mayor Marco Sanchez told the crowd that this new addition is just the beginning of many new businesses coming to Combes.
“We are truly a small town on the move,” he proudly proclaimed to the attentive crowd.
“We are honored that SKYE SALON chose our town to develop their business,” he said, and then added some details about this first business to open shop.
The business will offer a “world of beauty and refined haircuts for men, women and children.” Their services will include new hair and beauty treatments using Iridium professional products. Their full-service beauty shop includes: Up do’s, hair color, Perms and body waves, Fohawks and Mohawks for the younger set, beard trims and Edged Up, manicures and facials–to mention just a partial list of customer services.
“We call ourselves ‘a world of Relaxation,’” according to Mary.
As a statement of their professionalism, Operator Mary Torres added that SKYE SALON was the official beauty consultant for the First Annual Quinceanera & Wedding EXPO at the Oak Hill Event Center in San Benito in October. “It was the social event of the year,” she added.
The owner and developer of the strip is Aurelio Turrubiates of Combes. He worked closely with the Sean Andrews Construction Company in getting the job done before the end of the year.
“We are very pleased with the completed project, and this is just the first phase of expanding this business strip in Combes,” he said.
