National Day of Prayer To Be Observed
- Updated: May 4, 2015
The La Feria Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the La Feria City Commisison, will participate in the National Day of Prayer on Thrusday, May 7th, at 8 a.m. in the Chaparral building located at 108 South Main Street in La Feria (old Dollar General). Refreshments will be available.
The National Day of Prayer was established as an annual event in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The observance of the National Day of Prayer is founded on the constitutional rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religion and can be celebrated by all Americans. It is intended to serve as an encouragement for Americans to take time out of their day to offer prayers.
At 9 a.m. that morning the community is invited to meet at the flag pole in front of the City of La Feria Municipal Complex for prayer.
If you plan to attend, please contact Tabitha Outlaw at City Hall at (956) 797-2261 or email [email protected] by Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
