Cameron County Precinct 5 Constable Cesar Rene Diaz Seeks Fourth Term as Constable

Constable Cesar Rene Diaz

Constable Cesar Rene Diaz

My name is Cesar Rene Diaz, I am currently the elected Constable for Precinct 5 and have been proudly serving as your Constable since 2005. I am respectfully asking for your vote and support on my Re-Election campaign so that I can continue providing my services to you and our communities.

I was born in Harlingen on February 19, 1973 to Jose Noe Diaz and Gloria Torrez Diaz from the La Feria and Santa Maria area, both of precinct 5. My wife, Beatriz Juarez Diaz, daughter of Severiano and Beatriz Juarez of La Feria, and I make our home in La Feria with our three children, Karina, Clarisa, and Cesar Jr.. I am a graduate of Progreso High School and my wife Bea is a graduate of La Feria High School. I started my law enforcement career in 1995 with the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department and served under Sheriff Alex Perez and Sheriff Omar Lucio. I was assigned to work in several different divisions within the Sheriff’s office, starting as a detention officer safeguarding violent and non-violent offenders in our detention facilities. I worked my way up to patrolman where I was assigned to drug interdiction on our public highways and county roads. I was later assigned to patrol the rural areas of our communities and assisted in serving civil documents. I was also certified as a horse and bike patrolman.

I proudly served the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department for ten years before running for the elected position of Constable for Precinct 7 in 2005. My desire was to proudly continue to serve the citizens of the area my family grew up in. I was first elected for a four-year term back in January of 2005 after a successful campaign, thanks to the support and trust you and our communities instilled upon me. Since I took office, our department has served our precinct’s Justice Courts, patrolled our rural areas, and investigated criminal cases such as thefts, burglaries, assaults, aggravated assaults, sex crimes, and drug cases. We have arrested many offenders from all over the Rio Grande Valley and other parts of Texas who have come into our communities to commit crimes. We have also recovered stolen property such as household items, electronics, and vehicles including utility trailers stolen from private citizens in the precinct, from local school districts and from local colleges. Our department has also been awarded monies by other law enforcement agencies, both state and federal because of our involvement in assisting them in their drug cases and because of illegal criminal activities reported to our office which resulted in money seizures and arrests.

We have used those monies to better equip our law enforcement needs such as computers, uniforms, firearms, police training and other police equipment at no cost to you, the taxpayer. These are the results from making my office available to work hand in hand with other surrounding law enforcement agencies. I strongly believe that by working together and assisting one another, we can definitely better serve our communities to make it a better quality of life for all.

In addition, our department has tremendously increased the amount of revenue for our county by taking on the responsibility of serving outstanding traffic warrants from our local Justice of the Peace offices and by serving the Attorney General’s Office child support documents where thousands of dollars continue to be collected. I operate a respectful and professional department with two office locations, La Feria and Harlingen. I employ two office Secretaries, a Lieutenant Administrator, a Sergeant Investigator, two Warrant Officers, two Civil Process Deputies, assigned to our Justice Courts and the Attorney General’s office, four full-time Patrol Deputies and ten part-time Reserve Patrol Deputies.

My mission is to continue serving our justice courts and to protect the citizens within our communities. Joined with a strong and dedicated working team of deputies and professional leadership, we can continue making our department succeed in providing the highest degree of service to you.

My pledge to you is to continue to provide the utmost Integrity, Courtesy, and Professional service by making myself and my staff available to you, the citizens of this precinct. I believe in the open door policy and I welcome you to stop by any of our two locations to express any concerns you might have or just to visit.

I thank you in advance for your continuous support and may God bless every single one of you, from your Constable, Cesar Rene Diaz and family.
