32-AAAA Team Tennis All-District Selections

Coaches from district 32-AAAA voted for All-District team tennis players. Selected players are named based on their win/loss record, contributions to their team, and sportsmanship.
La Feria Tennis was able to capture the top two spots which are MVP’s, or Most Valuable Players. Brother and sister, Carlos and Violeta Gamboa were voted unanimously as the top two players for the team tennis season. Violet finished the year with an overall record of 22-2, while Carlos shined with a 21-1 record.
Honored with All-District 1st Team distinctions were Seniors Alisha Valdez (18-3), Ashley Avalos (22-1), and Victor Gamboa. Alisha Valdez was also named to the All-Academic Team for her all “A” first six week’s report card grades.
Honored with All-District 2nd Team distinctions were Angela Hernandez (17-0), Denise Garcia (16-1), and Jose Gonzalez.
The New Comer of the Year was Freshman Makayla Trevino. Makayla worked her way into the varsity line up and helped he team win several matches. Makayla finished with a 10-1 record, playing both singles and doubles.
Lastly, Danielle Ramos, Austin de la Cruz, and Joseph Escamilla were recognized with Honorable Mention distinctions for their efforts throughout the team tennis season.
