La Feria High School Student Ambassadors Shine Bright
- Updated: December 23, 2016
On December 1, 2016, the La Feria High School Student Ambassadors participated in the 2016 RGV LEAD Conference at the Hilton Garden at South Padre Island. RGV LEAD is an organization made up of education and business industry members that come together to plan and prepare ideas on how to prepare our students for post-secondary and career readiness.
This year, the student ambassadors’ topic presentation was “Using Technology to Engage Students”. The topic was meant to show several technological apps that can and are used in the classroom and how it affects them and their coursework. Some of the technology programs they discussed are the differences between Kahoot and Quizziz, comparing Edmodo to Google Classroom, Screencast-O-Matic, Big Huge Labs, Fodey.com, and Google docs. Their presentation focused on why using technology is important for Generation Z students and why the integration of technology will prepare them for their future studies.
Members of the audience were educators from different isds throughout the Valley including some administrators and some business leaders.
