Donald E. (Don) King
- Updated: August 29, 2014
Donald E. (Don) King, 62, went to join his Heavenly Father on Monday, August 18, 2014, with his loving family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Lorraine King of Mercedes, TX, and stepmother Francis King.
Don is survived by his loving bride of 38 years, Nancy King; cherished sons and daughters, Weston and Brianna King of San Marcos, TX, and Jeffrey and Sara King of Corpus Christi, TX; brother David King of Mercedes, TX; treasured grandchildren Eli, Hailey and Kristopher; several beloved nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and countless friends whom he considered family. He graduated from Mercedes High School and served 4 years in the United States Navy where he discovered his passion for aviation. After returning from the Navy, Don earned his Aviation Maintenance certifications and began his rewarding, life-long career in the field he loved.
We will all miss his sense of humor, his sagacious advice and his generous goodwill. He was a giving man who willingly shared his life with everyone. He never knew a stranger. We love and miss you but know you are at peace.
A Celebration of His Life will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014, 6:00 PM, at Heavenly Grace Chapel. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Don’s honor to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Crematory.
