LA FERIA – Thousands of delegates from over 175 South Texas congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses are coming to La Feria this summer to enjoy their annual three-day, Bible-based conventions at the Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 1701 South Parker Road. This has been good news for local restaurants and merchants who have noted an increase in business each year during these events.

The 2017 series began with 7 consecutive Spanish conventions which began the weekend of June 2-4 and will continue through the weekend of July 14-16 according to Robert Rivera, Sr, Jehovah’s Witnesses Media Services Overseer. “The entire program will be repeated in English in two consecutive English conventions starting on the weekend of July 21-23, and ending on the weekend of July 28-30,” he said, adding, “the theme of the three-day conventions is “Don’t Give Up.”

The program will include Bible lectures, brief videos and demonstrations highlighting the perfect example of the endurance of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity, and his father, Jehovah God, who is the greatest example of endurance.. The program will highlight the lives of others in the Bible who endured trials and left patterns for us to imitate, showing not only what we can learn from these fine examples, but also what we can learn about endurance from God’s creation.

The program will be of interest to sincere Bible students and their families, The Witnesses extend an invitation to attend and hear the word of God presented in a clear and understandable way. All are invited to attend. The admission is free. There are no collections.

For more information about the dates and languages of the conventions, call Robert Rivera, Sr. at 956 968 8687 or visit [email protected].
