by Bill Keltner/LFN
Yes, it is that time of year again. And the Ladies’ Auxiliary of American Legion Post #439 has made arrangements for an early visit by Santa to the La Feria American Legion Hall on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Patty Hoffman, Legion spokesperson, said this is the 25th consecutive year the local post has sponsored this event. And ladies of the Auxiliary work very hard to make this a great day for the children in the area. She said that Santa will be there giving each boy and girl a wrapped present. In addition, she said, “there will be snacks for the children and some other surprises.”
Hoffman invited parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles to gather their kids and make it a “great day” for the children.
The La Feria Legionnaires are also welcoming our arriving Winter Texans to their Post to enjoy food and entertainment while they enjoy their stay in the Valley. She said that all meals are served from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m–Sunday, it’s hamburgers; Monday, Spaghetti; Wednesday, pork chops; Friday, Fish; Saturday pork tenderloins.
The Post will have dancing and and music on Wednesday and Saturday with Karaoke every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday.
Hoffman said,” the members of La Feria’s American Legion Post #439 wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” adding, “See you at the La Feria American Legion Post, and God bless America.”
