With school supplies on the shelves at stores, you know what that means. Summer is wrapping up and parents are buying school supplies for this coming school year.

Last Saturday, July 30th, from 9AM – 12PM Cameron County Commissioner of Precinct 4, Gus Rui had a backpack giveaway! Giving away, “ONE THOUSAND BACKPACKS AND SUPPLIES to our children of Precinct 4 returning to school soon!”

The post mentions free haircuts for boys & girls. This free giveaway was held this last weekend and was shared in our local newspaper. The event was at the Cameron County Commissioner’s Office here in La Feria at 26623 White Ranch Rd, La Feria, Tx.

If you missed out don’t worry! Another back-to-school event coming up here in La Feria is the National Night Out event which will be held on Wednesday, August 10th from 6 pm till 8:30 pm at the Veterans Memorial Park here in La Feria. The event will be a blast, having moon jumps, face painting, and a train ride to name a few. Mayor, Olga Maldonado will be assisting the La Feria Police Department along with Mrs. Nancy Loredo a teacher with La Feria ISD.
Many businesses will have tables donating school supplies along with having giveaways & raffles. Avant water will be giving out water, local restaurants like Los Amigos will be having drinks, and Los Leones Hotdogs. Name brand gift cards and School supplies will be given out.
