La Feria’s National Honor Society held its annual ceremony on Friday, April 14 at the La Feria High School cafeteria. The ceremony was an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of the students who have shown outstanding performance in the areas of Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service.
The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization that honors high school students who have demonstrated excellence in academic achievement, leadership, community service, and character. This society is more than just an honor roll, as it focuses on rewarding the overall development of a student. It serves as a beacon of excellence for all students to strive for in their academic and personal lives.
Mrs. Irma Tovar and Mrs. Kyral have been sponsors responsible for the NHS chapter at La Feria High School since the previous sponsor retired. The National Honor Society has been offered to students at LFHS for many years, with the last recorded members being from 2007.
The certificates were presented to the students at the ceremony, which serve as proof of membership to the National Honor Society. This certification confirms that the students have met the preliminary requirements for induction into the club, and it can be used as proof of membership if the student transfers to another school in the nation.
The entire ceremony was conducted by the current NHS members. The students had the opportunity to give speeches during the ceremony. The speeches were about the experiences and the lessons they had learned throughout their membership in the National Honor Society. The speeches were insightful, and they provided a glimpse into the benefits of being part of the organization.
The ceremony went well, and the parents in the audience gave compliments to the organizers, stating how much they enjoyed the event. The ceremony was an excellent opportunity to celebrate the students’ achievements and their future in the club.
Overall, La Feria’s National Honor Society ceremony was a great success. The ceremony was a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students who have achieved excellence in Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. The National Honor Society is an organization that inspires students to be the best version of themselves.
Mrs. Irma Tovar says, “We were glad that we are able to hold a ceremony to celebrate the students’ achievements and their future in the club.”
