Jennifer Castillo owns Jennifer Kristin Photography, an entrepreneurial endeavor she initiated 14 years ago. However, it wasn’t until five years ago that she opened an actual storefront.
Originating from family gatherings and school yearbooks, her passion for photography blossomed into a profession she is infinitely passionate about. Reflecting on her inspirations and her profound interest in photography, she remarked, “I think it is important to have those memories because tomorrow isn’t promised, and you don’t get those moments back.”

Recounting a pivotal moment that underscored the depth of her artistry, she shared, “When I first started, it was an amazing moment in which I knew it was what I wanted to do forever. I was still practicing with newborn photography, and I was photographing this little baby boy, and his dad started crying, and it was just that touching moment when he was looking at his little boy and he was having a moment of ‘that’s my son and he’s here’ and when I saw that I knew that this was what I wanted to do.”
Jennifer emphasized that her family serves as her primary inspiration; not only fueling her journey but also kickstarting it. She expressed her desire for clients to feel welcome and comfortable during her service, stating, “I was allowed in these intimate and sometimes vulnerable moments, and I had actually formed friendships from this. I have followed them year after year, special occasion after special occasion, and I have been able to see their kids grow up and vice versa.”

She cherished the connections forged with families through her work, underscoring that her business isn’t merely a means of earning a living but a manifestation of her passion.
Despite moments of doubt about her suitability for her profession, Jennifer revealed that her faith played a pivotal role in her success. “I have had many more interactions with the clients in which I was able to speak about the Lord,” she disclosed, adding, “God has always been in the center of everything.”
When Jennifer was first starting out, she was looking for a location close to home in La Feria and near her husband Art Castillo, who owns Anomaly Jui Jitsu she says, “He answered that prayer to a T, and there is no other answer than, it was God’s grace.” Jennifer then explained how she could spread His word by sharing her journey.

Jennifer Kristin Photography specializes in providing the comforts of home, offering services ranging from maternity and newborn photography to documenting birthdays and milestones. Jennifer gave voice to the fact that she only offers her services to studio orders, but adds, “I may not be a photographer for outdoors, but I can recommend you to someone who can.”
In closing, I’d like to share one of Jennifer’s favorite bible verses, “Delight yourself in the lord and He shall give you the series of your heart.” Psalms 37:4
