On Monday, August 5th, La Feria ISD held its annual Convocation to welcome all employees to the new school year. The theme for this year was Cinema, and each school was supposed to dress as their favorite movie. The district would like to once again express its heartfelt gratitude to the school’s CTE Department for proudly hosting this year’s red carpet event. The celebration featured various movie-themed costumes, and the district extends its sincere thanks to the CTE department, its director, Mrs. Zuvieta, and everyone involved for making this year’s Convocation a resounding success and an enjoyable event for all.
The event welcomed back teachers, board members, and professional staff from the various departments of La Feria ISD. The district also took the opportunity to recognize and award school employees for their years of service.
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department at La Feria ISD is designed to cater to a wide range of student interests. Students in the CTE program can choose from two pathways related to arts, design, journalism, and entertainment services, including graphic design, interactive media, and digital communications. These pathways, while distinct, offer a flexible range of options, with over 40 courses available, ensuring that every student can find a path that suits their interests and goals.
Additionally, students may choose to participate in the Texas TSA or SkillsUSA Texas programs, which are similar to the architecture and construction programs.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter which path the student chooses as long as they have the right curriculum. This is essential to ensure that the students succeed in their chosen fields.
