On the evening of Monday, August 5th, the 2024 National Night Out was a resounding success thanks to the fantastic hosting by the La Feria Police Department. The event took place at the picturesque Veteran’s Memorial Park/Sport Complex on Pancho Maples Drive in La Feria. The festivities included a wide array of offerings for students preparing to return to school, with the participation of numerous law enforcement agencies. The La Feria Police Department distributed numerous exciting giveaways, while various vendors generously provided school supplies, backpacks, and valuable resources for the community. Children were treated to an abundance of fun and games, and the highlight for many was the delightful train ride around the venue.
National Night Out is a yearly gathering typically held on the first Tuesday in August. The main goal of this event is to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community. It’s an excellent opportunity to bring neighbors and police together in a positive and engaging atmosphere. The event serves as a platform to promote a safer community by encouraging residents to build connections with their neighbors and to become familiar with their surroundings. Typically, the event includes festivities such as block parties, cookouts, parades, and various other community activities. Moreover, it often features educational seminars, safety demonstrations, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits, and much more.
