La Feria Student Athletes Prepare for the Upcoming School Year
- Updated: August 10, 2024
By Mike Villarreal
This summer, nearly 250 student-athletes from La Feria ISD participated in the school’s summer strength and conditioning workouts. With the new school year approaching, it is essential for student-athletes to be prepared for their sports, and early training reduces the risk of injury. It also helps them achieve their personal goals in strength training, speed, and conditioning, thus preparing them for a successful sports season. The athletes were provided opportunities and experienced physical, mental, and emotional improvements. The coaching staff covered specific topics that the student-athletes encounter daily.
However, it was not all just training. Every Thursday, the staff came together and provided treats such as popsicles, ice pops, BBQ, and watermelon, and even organized a water balloon fight with over 1000 balloons. La Feria ISD appreciates the students and coaches for dedicating their time throughout the summer. The Lions, Lionettes, and the entire coaching staff are looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year!
