La Feria ISD’s unique collaboration with Noble Texas Builders’ Leadership Academy was a significant event. Teachers Robert Salazar and Cecilio Cavazos, along with students Alliana Briones and David Ramos, joined forces with the Builders for a 10-day program, marking a memorable learning experience for all involved.
This year, Noble Texas Builders’ initiatives had a broad impact, hosting 13 teachers and 21 students for its Second Annual Teacher Externship and High School Student Internship Programs. The participants, representing various school districts, including Harlingen, La Feria, Los Fresnos, McAllen, Point Isabel, and Region One ESC Rural School Districts like La Sara, Lyford, Monte Alto, and San Perlita ISD, brought a diverse range of perspectives to the table.
The Noble Leadership Academy provides exceptional education and training opportunities for team members, subcontractors, teacher externs, and student interns, focusing on bridging the skills gap between industry and education.
Throughout the program’s second week, teacher externs and student interns were exposed to enriching and dynamic experiences. These included visits to job sites in Edinburg, Peñitas, Los Fresnos, and Harlingen, enabling them to engage with industry professionals and gain firsthand knowledge in project management and advanced construction.
Their activities featured in-depth learning sessions on the roles of project managers and superintendents, the importance of HUB certifications, understanding Requests For Proposals (RFPs), and the intricacies of bidding on construction projects. Additionally, the teacher externs visited the Associated General Contractors to gain an overview of the organization and learn about the various general contractors in the area, the types of projects they handle, and their impact on the region.
Noble’s dedication to professional growth not only enhances knowledge and skills but also ensures the success and sustainability of the company. Their mission is to inspire, improve, and strengthen—because we believe that investing in our people is the key to a brighter future for all.
