On Friday December 15th and Saturday December 16th La Feria FFA members participated in the RGV Livestock Show Citrus and Vegetable Show. This show is about promoting the education of agriculture to the valley’s youth. The students had the opportunity to visit Wonderful Citrus in Mission and talk to Jeff Taylor about the citrus industry in the RGV. Students had the chance to pick and prepare a product for the contest. This year Miah Munoz from the La Feria FFA came in 3rd in the Citrus Rio Red division.
“This event gives the students the opportunity to work hand in hand with local growers, learning about varieties of crops grown in the RGV, how to harvest the very best produce, and, finally, have the opportunity to display what they have learned. This show offers different events for students to participate in.
