La Feria ISD Recognizes Its School Board Members
- Updated: January 16, 2025

In celebration of School Board Recognition Month this January 2025, La Feria ISD would like to take a moment to honor the dedicated members of the La Feria School Board. Your hard work, commitment, and leadership are shaping a brighter future for our students and our community.
We sincerely appreciate all that you do to support education and create opportunities for success. Thank you for your continued service and unwavering dedication! You are the leadership for tomorrow’s Texas.
La Feria ISD, along with other districts across the state, would like to thank our local leaders for their dedication and commitment to advocating for children in public schools. The theme for 2025, “Leadership for Tomorrow’s Texas,” highlights the essential role that school board members play in shaping the future of our state.
Serving on the school board is a volunteer position with no salary. Although we make a special effort in January to express our appreciation for board members, we recognize that their contributions reflect a commitment that lasts throughout the entire year. They generously devote their time to ensure that decisions affecting our local schools are made by community representatives who are closely connected to our schools and understand the needs of our teachers, parents, and students.
Board members shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices, always with the ultimate goal of ensuring the children’s future success in the district. It is more important than ever that public support for our schools is strong so today’s students are prepared to become productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow.
Board members provide vision and leadership in their roles as advocates, and they will continue to stand up for public education and protect against anything that detracts from our children’s success.
The current La Feria ISD School Board of Trustees includes Jane Castillo (President), Katie Johnson (Vice President), Alma Martinez (Secretary), Juan Briones (Member), Gloria Casas (Member), Lisa Montalvo (Member), and Ruben Zambrano (Member).
Thank you again to the La Feria ISD School Board of Trustees for your service to the community and commitment to the students and staff. The district looks forward to another great year at La Feria ISD, where the ongoing mission is to provide high-quality education that develops students into socially responsible lifelong learners.
