The La Feria Lions football teams suffered their first district loss of the season to the Kingsville Brahmas in a tough 19 -14 battle at Lion Stadium. The Brahmas started off fast as they scored on a safety and then scored a touchdown to go up 9 – 0. The Lions would soon respond as quarterback Isaac Galpin found Julian Trevino on a long touchdown pass to cut the lead to 9 – 7. Kingsville would soon add to their lead by returning the following kickoff for a touchdown and then adding a field goal right before the half. The Lions went into halftime down 19 – 7. La Feria would respond in the second half by scoring another touchdown and narrowing the score to 19 – 14. That score would remain the same until the last horn as Kingsville would go on to win the game. The Lions played tough but could not pull it out at the end. La Feria will now travel to Zapata on Friday, October 31 to face the Hawks in their season finale. Good luck to the Lions and ROLL PRIDE!
