The Lionettes and Lions are both off to a good start, including great tournament performances at the C.E. Vail and Tommie Wiseman classics. So here’s what to expect for La Feria basketball heading into district play. Last season the Lionettes finished as the number four seed in district play and suffered a loss to Calallen in the Bi-District round. The Lionettes will kick off district play on January 7th on the road against Rio Hondo then have their district home opener against Raymondville on January 11th. They will then play Grulla, Hidalgo, and Port Isabel to wrap up the first half of district play. January 25th the Lionettes kick off the second half against Rio Hondo. February opens up with the Lionettes taking on Grulla on the 1st, then Port Isabel on the 7th. For the Lions, they finished off 5-6 in district play and entered the postseason as the number four seed. The Lions look to improve their district record and look to capture a district title.
