La Feria Football Wraps up for 2023

Unfortunately, Good things must come to an end as the La Feria Lions 2023 Football season has come to a close. Here is how the 2023 campaign played out.
After falling in Week One to Donna 55-20, the Lions quickly bounced back and defeated PSJA Southwest for their first and only non-district win of 2023. The Lions then fell and lost their last two district games to Brownsville Pace 28-26 and Mercedes 42-6.
When District Play rolled around, the Lions’ troubles continued, failing to find a groove early on. Going 0-3 to begin District, La Feria fell to Alice 41-6, Tuloso-Midway 47-7 and Calallen 63-0.
La Feria was able to pick up their first District win against Valley Rival Hidalgo 35-14, but fell short to Zapata 31-7. The Lions were able to close out 2023 with a win over Kingsville King 14-7.
La Feria finishes their season with a 3-7 overall record, and a 2-4 record in District. Finishing in fifth, La Feria will miss the playoffs after two straight appearances in 2022 and 2021.
