La Feria Hosts 4th Annual Trooper Moises Sanchez Obstacle Run

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, a spirit of unity and camaraderie filled the air as law enforcement agencies from across the Valley gathered to honor and participate in the 4th Annual Trooper Moises Sanchez Obstacle Course Run. The event, a poignant tribute to Trooper Moises Sanchez, was a testament to the strong bond that unites these agencies. This year’s event, organized by the Texas Department of Public Safety, took place at the La Feria High School football stadium and featured a challenging obstacle course. It was a day of remembrance, respect, and shared determination. The participation of 39 teams representing local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies further underscored this sense of community.
The annual Trooper Moises Sanchez Obstacle Course Run has grown in numbers and spirit. Over the past three years, it has evolved into a significant event, drawing participants from various agencies, job titles, and community members. This year, with 39 teams competing, the event reached a new milestone, providing an opportunity for individuals to challenge themselves while paying tribute to Trooper Moises Sanchez’s legacy. The growth of this event is a testament to the collective pride and accomplishment of all those involved.
The Texas Department of Public Safety-South Texas Region expressed gratitude to all participants and volunteers for contributing to the success of this year’s event. Additionally, they extended special thanks to supporters of the event, including the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association, TMPA, Mid-Valley Trailer Sales, Roosters Country Cafe, Bert Ogden Rio Grande Valley, #AGoodMansBarberShop, Driscoll Health Plan, All Star Nutrition Pharr, WoodmenLife, La Feria High School, and La Feria ISD. These contributors’ continuous support and commitment have been instrumental in making the event possible year after year.
