La Feria ISD Attends 2023 SLI Conference

Recently, the district’s school board participated and represented La Feria ISD at the 2023 Texas Association of School Boards State Summer Leadership Institute held in San Antonio, Texas. The SLI 2023 Conference took place June 14–17.
La Feria ISD had the privilege of presenting at the Gear Up Building Leadership Institute on Partnerships in CTE Pathways. The district expressed gratitude towards Region One ESC for providing them with this valuable opportunity to share their expertise and learn from other professionals in the field.
The board attended various sessions, including school safety, staff health and wellness, college and career readiness, governance, school finance, legislative updates, and evaluating student outcomes. The board members, Jane Castillo, Cindy Torres, Umberto Flores, and Cassandra Zuvieta, along with the entire School Board, also had the privilege of presenting to fellow attendees from across the state on the topic of “The Perfect Partners for Pathways.” Their presentation highlighted La Feria ISD’s innovative approach to fostering strategic partnerships that enhance students’ educational journeys.
La Feria ISD expressed their anticipation and excitement for the new school year as they continue their planning efforts over the summer. The district is committed to welcoming back its dedicated staff and eager students in August, ensuring a supportive and enriching environment for all.
