LA FERIA, TX. – After some time, the much-anticipated return of a La Feria Business Mixer was held at the beginning of this month on February 7th, drawing a strong turnout from local businesses and community members. Hosted at the Casa De Fiestas event center off the frontage road, the event provided a platform for networking and discussions on community engagement.
Attendees included representatives from all sorts of businesses including: Well Refuge Bookstore & Hangout, Smart Start, Almighty Propane, El Norteno’s Boots & Bar, and Gabbyritas Frozen Drinks, among others. The Chief of La Feria ISD Police was also present, along with various other community figures eager to reconnect and collaborate. Business owners and entrepreneurs took the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and explore potential partnerships in an informal and welcoming environment.
Organized by Dani Tiscareno, Esmeralda Yado, Cindy, and David Briones, the mixer ran from 6:30 p.m. well into the night, with guests staying until nearly 11 p.m. to continue conversations and build new connections. The event featured refreshments and a relaxed atmosphere that encouraged meaningful interactions among attendees.
A key highlight of the evening was a discussion led by Tiscareno about hosting a community heritage night. The proposed event, tentatively set for early April, aims to celebrate the local talent and artistic expressions of La Feria and its surrounding areas. More details, including the exact date and location, are expected to be announced soon. This event is expected to bring together the community to showcase the talent of our local school folklorico band, musicians, and other artists to showcase their work and strengthen cultural ties within the community.
Given the strong response, organizers are optimistic about hosting similar events in the future to foster ongoing collaboration and local development. Many attendees expressed their enthusiasm for continued business mixers and community gatherings, seeing them as valuable opportunities to build relationships and support local growth.
With the success of this event, the momentum is growing for future initiatives that will in hopes strengthen community bonds and encourage local entrepreneurship in La Feria.
