The La Feria Lionettes have had a stellar start to 32-4A action in the 2022-23 Girls High School soccer season. Here’s what the Lionettes have done so far.
After a rough start in non-district, the Lionettes turned things around to begin the district schedule. La Feria began District Play on a high note, defeating Rio Hondo 5-1.
After Rio Hondo, the Lionettes got through the Jubilee Lady Titans in a 2-0 win. Following the Lady Titans, La Feria took on Port Isabel. In what was purely a defensive matchup, La Feria and Port Isabel ended up drawing at 1-1.
La Feria would bounce back and pick up a win over Harmony School of Innovation in shutout fashion, scoring 4 goals. La Feria’s dominance continued on the road as The Lionettes defeated IDEA Sports Park 10-0.
So what lies ahead for the Lionettes?? La Feria will take on IDEA Riverview and then IDEA Frontier to wrap up the first half of district action.
La Feria will then open Round two of District against Rio Hondo, then take on Brownsville Jubilee on February 14. Port Isabel will be up next for the Lionettes on February 21, then HSI on February 28. Lastly IDEA Sports Park, IDEA Riverview and IDEA Frontier to wrap up the regular season.
La Feria finished in 2nd last season in 32-4A with a 10-2 record, this season, The Lionettes plan to use this momentum to make a deep impact and playoff run.
