Agriculture Science Academy Competes at RGVLS

At the 85th annual RGVLS, the Agriculture Science Academy 4-H competed in a wide diversity of events.
First, Blended Acres and Edens Lilly sponsored the Dairy Goat show. Both of these farms are located near La Feria.
Dairy Goats- Showman Crawford Sosebee won the Overall Grand Champion Senior Dairy Goat and was the Champion Intermediate Showman. His brother Kaid Sosebee won Reserve Champion Junior Lamancha and was the Champion Junior Showman.
Mini Hereford- RyAnn O’Loughlin won Champion Junior Mini Hereford Bull
Beefmaster- Kayla Whisenant placed 4th in her class with her breeding cow.
Rabbits- RyAnn received 1st in the Junior New Zealand Buck class. Stephen Robinson received 11th in the Intermediate New Zealand Doe class. Kayla Whisenant received 5th in the Intermediate New Zealand Buck class. Jackson Whisenant received 3rd in the Senior New Zealand doe class. Cassandra Hill received 9th in the Intermediate Buck class and 8th in the Senior doe class. Seth Johnson received 5th in the New Zealand Senior Buck class. Alex Hill received 4th in the Californian Senior Doe class. and Hayden O’Loughlin received 5th in the Californian Senior Buck class.
Ranch Sorting- Hayden O’Loughlin won 2nd place in the Ranch Hand Class and 2nd in the Reverse Ranch Hand CLass. RyAnn and HAyden O’Loughlin won together as a team the #5 Class. They were the youngest team riding!
Consumer Decision Making- Our Intermediate team, (Sam Johnson, Zenie Jarrett, and Stephen Robinson) placed 2nd and our Senior team (RyAnn and Hayden O’Loughlin) Placed Fourth. This was our first year competing in this.
Ag Product ID- Our Senior team (RyAnn O’Loughlin, Hayden O’Loughlin, and Seth Johnson) placed 4th
We also had students participate in the Greased Pig Scramble, Market Lambs, Market Pigs, and Livestock Judging.
RyAnn O’Loughlin and Charlotte Elliott were also chosen to be flag bearers for the Rodeo.
Kinsley O’Loughlin also competed in the Pet Show with her 3-legged goat, Legacy. She got 1st in Most Unique, 2nd in Most Compatible, and 3rd in Fluffiest. She was our youngest exhibitor, having just turned six. She also carried the flag in the Ranch Sorting Event.
