Los Fresnos News
The La Feria Lions picked up another big win over the Raymondville Bearkats. After dropping two straight games to Port Isabel and Zapata to start the second half of 32-4A, La Feria needed the key win over the Bearkats.
In their first meeting back on March 13, La Feria picked up a 6-0 win over Raymondville.
Solid hitting and pitching for the Lions was the key in the first matchup.
In the second matchup against Raymondville, La Feria played solidly on offense and defense.
Again, Key hitting early on set the tempo for the Lions to put up the runs. The defense allowed the Lions to keep the Bearkats scoreless all game.
Thanks to great play on both sides of the ball, La Feria picked up a 6-0 win to improve to 4-4 on the season.
Trying to stay in the 32-4A Playoff Race, La Feria sits as the four seed. Ahead of the Lions are the Hidalgo Pirates and Zapata Hawks who are both tied for first at 7-1. Grulla follows with a 4-3 record.
The Lions only have a few games to attempt to reach the 4A Playoffs.
